  News and Information . . .

Olweus Survey - Nodaway Valley Schools is instituting a district-wide program aimed at preventing bullying throughout the school setting by uniting staff and students on the issue.  The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program, which is being implemented K-12, is a proactive approach to improving peer relations and creating a more positive learning environment.  In the coming weeks, we will be administering an electronic questionnaire to students in grades 3-12 in order to get a better understanding of the perception of bullying as our students see it.   Family Lunch AccountsNew this year is the establishment of family meal accounts so that all meal transactions for a family are drawn from one central account. If a student currently has a lunch balance, funds will be drawn from this account first. Once the student account is reduced to a zero balance, the student's meal transactions will cause a transfer of funds from the family account to cover the cost of their purchases. To deposit funds to the family account, log into the JMC Parent portal, select Lunch and click on 'Make Online Deposit (Family Account)'. If you do not want a Family Lunch Account, email info@nodawayvalley.org.
ImageEarly Release Wednesdays—Please remember that during the 2014-2015 school year we will have a one-hour early release each Wednesday. This time will be used for professional learning designed to improve student achievement. This allows NV to better meet collaboration and peer review requirements plus teacher collaboration is a powerful way to improve instruction.
Image JMC Parent Access—Parents of students in Grades PK-12 may access their student grade, lunch and report card information by logging into JMC. Watch this video to learn how to use this tool. At the 10:38 mark be sure to view the Period Attendance and Grade Alert options. Parents of students in Grades PK-3 are able to access breakfast and lunch information only.
